Cornwall Cricket Centre, Truro

Lilly Lewarne Architects was commissioned in June 2008 to act as lead consultant for Kier Group, as part of a Design and Build contract to construct Truro College’s new Cornwall Cricket Centre. The Cricket Centre is a prestige development for Truro College, providing a centre of cricketing excellence and is the only such specialist facility in the county. Funding was obtained jointly from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Sport England and Truro College. Accordingly the building is designed to be compliant with stringent ECB technical standards for space utilisation, specialist floor surfaces and lighting. The Centre of Excellence contains 5 naturally lit cricket practice nets with bowling machines convertible to a single indoor pitch, changing facilities and teaching and video analysis suites.
